I've been working incredibly long hours lately and my blog has taken the back seat for a while. Between the new shop and trying to keep up with making themes to sell my free time has gone down from a 30% to ZERO. Three nights ago I broke my bed time record. I went to bed a six in the am and woke up at 8:00am that same morning, can you believe it? .After 2 hours of sleep I just couldn't get myself to figure something to blog about. Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. This has been a wonderful, precious and indulging time but inspiration has not necessarily been an item on my list these days.
After changing everything up last night I realized how little things make me feel comfortable and inspired and I wanted to share them with you. Please leave your tips in the comment section.
Live, then blog. I find it hard sometimes to get myself out of the house. I tend to put my commitments first and I often realize there's no blogging without a life. Going out, speaking to people, reading, everything around us is a source of inspiration.
Use your resources. Flickr, Pinterest and other image based sites are a great source of inspiration. Reading other blogs or magazines put you in contact with trends and styles emerging within the blogging world.
Make. Take time out to do something you love. Work with your hands and you will most definitely jump-start the creative vibe.
How do you overcome those inspiration-less days?

I close the computer :). (and "Do.")
ReplyDelete2 hours of sleep?! No wonder you weren't feeling inspired! My trick is to blog in bulk, when I'm feeling creative, and then let the blog be during the week when I'm too hectic to make real time for inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love that suggestion. I must do that some time.
Deletelove the new format... i guess i open the fridge... somehow I always find something here that inspires me... haha!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet Ellie!
DeleteI think you hit it. I go and live. Or sometimes I just have to wait. My friend once told me your brain is still working on something even if you're not actively thinking about it. I like that advice. I enjoy your blog! Thanks for doing what you do.
ReplyDeleteI often find that something as simple as getting fresh air and taking a walk can do wonders. Very well said: live, then blog. Indeed.
ReplyDeleteYes! Walks are amazing to clear the mind.
